LAHC - Brazil Missions Report (2023)

 

In English, the word “despedida” means farewell. After 23 years of ministry in South America, the years and my health have caught up with me (Eight years from 1991 to 1999; fifteen years from 2008 to 2023). 

2023 is the year that I plan to step down from my ministry at JEMS, with the approval of JEMS executive Director, Rev Rick Chuman.

My recent trip was an opportunity to thank those who have partnered with me over the decades. I’ve worked very diligently to cultivate relationships with pastors, leaders, lay people and network with multiple churches and denominations. (click any photo to enlarge) 

  

Many of those with whom I began ministry have themselves retired or have gone on to be with the Lord.  Other teens and young people have stepped into leadership roles themselves.

  

  

 

This trip was also an opportunity to make connections for the future as JEMS prayerfully continues its work in South America in the years to come.

  

 

Saying goodbye is always heartbreakingly bittersweet.
